Tories are planning their conference with no mention of the pandemic

CCHQ have begun asking previous organisers of fringe events at Tory Party Conference if they want to book another event this year – with no suggestion that the annual melee of double-breasted suits and lobbyists is going to be cancelled.

In a mass email to exhibitors, Central Office made no mention of Coronavirus or any social-distancing measures that might be still in place by October which suggests Tory HQ are confident the lockdown will be over and their annual conference in Birmingham is going ahead.

Whilst Ministers might not be giving a timeframe for lockdown, their colleagues in Matthew Parker Street have an event to organise.
