Soldier-turned-Celebrity Hunted contestant Johnny Mercer has just started a heated Twitter skirmish with Doug Beattie, a bumptious UUP MLA and fellow military politician over the precise details of his military tour of duty.
Over the years the former soldier has provided a stream of entertainment for Westminster watchers including the time when he demanded a man named Stephen Knight admit to being the author of an anonymous post in the comments section of the Plymouth Herald newspaper.
